Claim the throne of the Abyss
The Abyss power is once again vacant, which means the time has come to get your hands on the throne and its privileges. Gain influence over the various kingdoms of the ocean by winning support from the council of Lords, affiliating with the right Allies, and controlling key locations — only the one with the most influence can rule the Abyssal people.
Abyss is a game of development, combination and collection in which players take control of strategic locations in an underwater city. Players must develop on three levels: first winning Allies in an auction, then recruiting Lords by turning in required sets of those Allies, and finally using Lords to gain control of locations, sacrificing their powers in the process. The game ends once a player recruits their 7th Lord, or once the Court needs to be refilled and can't be; points come from locations controlled, Lords recruited, and other incidentals, and the player with the most wins.
Designed by Bruno Cathala (7 Wonders: Duel, Kingdomino, Splendor: Duel) and Charles Chevallier, with art by Xavier Collette. Abyss was a 2015 As d'Or - Jeu de l'Année nominee.
